Wedding Insurance
For wedding insurance, if you provide alcohol or a bar, you will need at a minimum host liquor liability policy, which is common in most but not all special event insurance policies.
Many people are surprised to hear that their homeowners policy does not cover a wedding, when held in a rented a facility. Home insurance carriers are unable to carry the name of the rented facility as an 'additional insured' on your insurance certificate. A rented facility will want to be named as an 'additional insured' on a certificate of insurance provided by an agent or broker. Typically, facilities request general liability limits of $1,000,0000 or more. The agreement to provide insurance is found in the indemnification section of a rental contract. The indemnity agreement usually includes other contractual requirements, such as, conditions regarding liquor and damage to rented premises.
